I would like the plot of the story to explore “what makes someone human” and “what makes people perceive someone as human”. For example, we usually expect humans to be“emotional” sounding, but that’s not always the case. There are things that can make humans not sound emotional. Some people have autism, believe in stoicism, etc.. Furthermore, the game is an extreme survival situation where a bunch of yokai are killing people and wearing their skin. A lot of people start to shut down in survival situations or just overall act weird and bizarre.

So, yeah, sometimes real humans can sound weirder/ more “off” than non-humans. I want to include humans that sound “odd” in my game to confront the player with what their perception of “human” really is.

Furthermore, the yokai will be watching and listening to the humans coming to knock on the player’s door, so they will slowly learn from them and try to mimic their behaviour. If a human character cries and yells and acts emotional, then the yokai will try that too. This is a parallel to how AI is trained on human-created content and becomes better and better at it every year.
